Based on 100 year old Grenache vines and called "cosmic nectar" by Oz Clarke and James May, Les Colonnades is another exceptional wine from the Viret stable - "textured and chocolate-rich" according to Andrew Jefford. Philippe Viret is a bit more lyrical, calling a homage to ancient civilsations (reflecting the age of the vines used to make the wine).
