In summer mode we've got a very drinkable rose from Domaine Montirius plus great selection of lovely Loire wines to really tempt you:
- we've recently taken delivery of some fantastic whites from Domaine Belliviere. Located in the obscure northern appellation of Jasnieres, it takes real dedication to produce top quality wines in this marginal area for wine production. If you haven't tried these wines before, check-out the Les Rosiers 2005 or the Premices 2008, both of which are an enticing off-dry;
- also new is an offering from Le P'tit Domaine in Saumur-Champigny. This is a small boutique operation but comes highly recommended from Nady Foucault at Clos Rougeard. Check out these wines under our First Come First Served selection;
- from established favourite Domaine de l'Ecu we have a good range of Guy Bossard's Expression range - in particular look out for the Granite 2008, which is Guy Bossard's top wine and is highly sought after;
- moving on to that great individualst Mark Angeli at La Ferme de la Sanssonniere, we have the 2008 vintage of La Lune which is excellent with a special meal;
- we've had some new wines in from Thierry Germain in Saumur-Champigny. In particular look out for Thierry's explosive white, Insolite, and the regular Domaine red which provides really excellent drinking;
- Domaine Philippe Gilbert's wines have recently been tasted by top wine writer Sarah Ahmed, who was particularly enthusiastic about them. Philippe employs a biodynamic approach to produce great Menetou-Salon. Philippe’s top white (the Renardieres) has been voted one of the top Sauvignon Blanc wines from the Loire.
If you have a special interest in the environment, then try our Biodynamic Box in order to satisfy both body and soul. This features wines from five top-flight biodynamic producers, with a range of different styles and grape varieties. Along with all our other mixed case selections, the Bio Box enjoys good savings compared to our normal list prices.
